Illustration (Explained): Types of Subject Area Used in Presentation cont.

Before we jump into the course, this example is illustrating the types of subject areas you can expect in the presentations used for team-oriented conversations in the activities.

BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois (BCBS-IL), an Executive Learning Exchange member for many years, sends out weekly healthy tips to increase awareness for wellness. In February 2016 they were focusing on maintaining a healthy heart through frequent exercise and good nutrition. Below is a copy of the healthy that pointed out "Know the Stats:" with more about how heart disease affects women in particular.

You might or you might not "Know the Stats:" Nearly half (45%) of U.S. women ages 25-60 are not aware that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S.

Since nearly half of the U.S. women are not aware of this "important stat", it is a good example for a productive conversation for a team-oriented activity in this course. During the conversation each team-member will interact and practice sharing their perspectives with others.

We hear so much information, some accurate but much of the information is not, it's difficult to sift through what is backed by high quality, evidenced-based research. So in this course we have carefully selected presentation material that is accurate and backed by high-quality research for the conversations. They subject areas will help you increase your personal and team performance.
